About

Angela Pittenger

Angela Pittenger was born and raised in a small desert town in Southern California.

She began her journey as a painter when she took classes with her grandma at the age of 16, learning traditional oil painting techniques.

In the last ten years or so, Angela has explored many styles, media and technique and found her passion with palette knives and oils.

"Painting with a knife feels carnal in that it forces me to let go of perfection and control and really feel how the paint wants to lay on the canvas," Pittenger said.

Pittenger's use of color, thick layers of paint convey the emotions that make us human - happiness, awe, sadness, loneliness, love.
